Digamé

Formed in 2007, Digamé brings together five young Sheffield- and Leeds-based musicians. Performing all original music, their influences include John Taylor, Dave Holland, Kenny Wheeler and Wayne Shorter, as well as more diverse musical styles such as drum and bass and ambient.

The group's conversational approach to improvisation (the name of the band means "talk to me" in Spanish) compliments the composer's approach to form and texture, with interweaving lines and a classical approach to orchestration.

The band features Pete Lyons on tenor sax, Alex Baker on alto sax, Nick Fletcher on piano, Amy Baker on bass and Johnny Hunter on drums.
